Having returned to Canberra from my last overseas assignment in Malaysia in early 1979, I found life in suburbia wanting
and, after some months of accounting for spare parts with Kirk's Queanbeyan Truck Centre, I bought a FORD FALCON with a slide-on camper which strongly resembled
a breadbin and henceforth was known by that name, and set off to discover Australia. Lacking the financial wherewithal, this was going to be a working
holiday. The breadbin proved to be too small for permanent living and we traded it in for a proper, albeit small, caravan.
