Having travelled as far north as Townsville and as far west as Mt Isa, we found ourselves back in Brisbane by mid-June 1980.
There's always plenty of work in a big city and we settled ourselves into the Northern Star Caravan Park. My old friend Noel Butler
had just bought himself a small acreage near Caboolture and we spent most weekends at his place or around Bechmere and Bribie Island.
Shirley got herself a job even before I did as receptionist at the Strathpine Medical Centre. I worked for a short while with a firm
of chartered accountants in the City before getting myself an interesting job with HARTLEY COMPUTERS in Toowong where we rented a small
flat in Sherwood Road, just around the corner from the office. Very convenient and also just a short distance from the Botanical Gardens
and Mt Cootha. While with HARTLEY, a company on Bougainville Island, MORGAN EQUIPMENT, asked me to come back to Papua New Guinea and
soon our wanderings began anew.
